Coronavirus live updates: Second wave cases cross 2 crore, nearly 2/3rd of total infections

The rate of decline was only slightly better than the 5.5% drop recorded last week

India reported nearly 2.7 lakh new cases in the week ending on Sunday, a 6.5% drop from the count in the previous week

The case fatality rate in the second wave so far works out to be 1.28%, as opposed to 1.41% in the first wave

So far, 2,56,931 deaths have been reported in the second wave, 62% of the country’s total Covid toll of 414,129

Second-wave cases now account for 64.3% of all infections detected in the country
