Ever since Apple debuted OLED panels on iPhones with the iPhone X launch, fans have been requesting Always-on Display support consistently. It seems like their prayers may finally get answered this year as a fresh report reveals that iPhone 13 may see the arrival of Always-On Display. The report is based on the details shared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in the newest edition of his newsletter called Power On.

The latest edition is basically a compilation of new things that Gurman expects Apple to release with the iPhone 13 lineup. He says that there is a possibility that we might get to see iPhone 13 models with Apple Watch-like Always-on Display (AOD) functionality. We know that Apple expanded OLED panels to the whole lineup with the iPhone 12 series. It makes sense that it would want to offer AOD now as it can now be implemented across all four models.

One of the primary benefits of having Always-On Display support is that users can check vital information without needing to wake up the phone entirely. They can check details like weather, time, calendar events, and app alerts with just a glance. This is something that is already available on a wide range of Android smartphones.

As for the rest of the expectations mentioned by Gurman, these are in line with previous leaks and rumors. The iPhone 13 series will feature the newest Apple A-series processor, likely to be called A15 Bionic. There are speculations of 120Hz refresh rate support finally coming to iPhone devices this year. The Pro models are tipped to have LiDAR sensors and Apple is said to have set a goal of shipping about 88 million iPhone 13 units this year.
