Carnival Corp.'s Carnival Cruise Line to operate more ships in September, October

Carnival Corp. CCL, -5.74% said Monday that its Carnival Cruise Line brand will have three more ships resuming operations in September, and another four in October. The line is seeing "a great combination of strong demand and strong guest satisfaction scores tied to the positive guest experience on board," Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a statement. Carnival ended the regular trading day down 5.7%.

Pfizer Inc. undefined said Friday that the Food and Drug Administration accepted its application for full approval of the COVID-19 vaccine it developed with BioNTech SE undefined. As part of the application process, the FDA sets a decision date based on the rules of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act for applications that receive what is called Priority Review. The decision date is set for an undisclosed day in January, Pfizer said. This means that Pfizer's COVID-19 shot may not be fully approved in the U.S. until then, though the decision could occur sooner.
