The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Noida, Dadri and Greater Noida) on Monday.
As Delhi received 70mm rainfall in the last 24 hour, many low lying area are now facing water-logging issue which has further caused traffic jams in most areas of Delhi city.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of entire Delhi and NCR (Bahadurgarh, Gurugram, Manesar, Faridabad, Ballabhgarh, Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Noida, Dadri and Greater Noida) on Monday.
The weather department issued advisory suggesting `slippery roads and traffic disruption` due to thunderstorm and rain. It also warned against `partial damage to plantation, horticulture, standing crops, vulnerable structures, kutcha houses and huts` due to rains and strong winds.
It added that moderate to heavy spells of rain may cause `occasional reduction in visibility` and waterlogging may occur in the low-lying areas.

The situation was particularly bad in Gurugram where rains flooded the roads, turning them into small rivers.
Many vehicles lay marooned on the roads as they got stuck due to waterlogging.
Heavy waterlogging was also seen under the Prahladpur underpass where a bus got trapped in the water.

`Traffic is diverted from MB road towards Mathura road,` it said on Twitter.
Delhi recorded minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius, three points below the normal for the season.The relative humidity was recorded at 100 per cent at 8.30 am.

The Delhi Traffic Police also alerted commuters to avoid specific stretches of roads where waterlogging has been reported.

Parts of Delhi received light to moderate rains on Sunday as the maximum temperature settled at 36.4 degrees Celsius, the IMD said. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board showed that the air quality index (AQI) at 6.30 pm in Delhi stood at 89.
