MP CM bows to Sepoy Mangal Pandey

Bhopal, July 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage on Monday to immortal revolutionary Mangal Pandey on his birth anniversary, official sources said.
Born on July 19, 1827 in Ballia; Sepoy Pandey served with the East India Company’s 34th Bengal Native Infantry and was executed on April 8, 1857 in Barrackpore.

In 1984, a postage stamp was released in recognition of his crucial role in India’s struggle for independence.
