Fake notes totalling Rs 54.37 lakh seized

Rajgarh, MP, July 18 (UNI) Investigation into a counterfeit currency case led District Police personnel to Bhilai in neighbouring Chhattisgarh where forged notes amounting to Rs 54.37 lakh were appropriated along with a laptop, five printers, scanner, etc.
“Interrogation of the accused revealed that they have already circulated fake currency amounting to approximately Rs 50 lakh in the market. A deal was finalised vis-à-vis dispatching such notes equalling Rs 1 crore to a southern state. Shankar and Ramchandra were recently placed under arrest in Jirapur and spurious cash totalling Rs 1 lakh seized. Quizzing led to the apprehension of Kamal Yadav. Details divulged by the trio resulted in the action at Bhilai a couple of days back and prime accused Vijay – who hails from Indore – was collared. He was involved in a similar racket in 2003,” Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma told the press here on Sunday.
