Three farmers die as portion of building collapses in Tamil Nadu

The front portion of the building collapsed around 1.30 am on Monday
ERODE: Three farmers died and three others sustained injuries when a portion of an old building collapsed at Andhiyur in Erode district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased have been identified as M Siddhan, 55, S Madevan, 55 and T Chinnapaiyan, 35. The injured have been identified as K Rajesh, 30, S Sivamoorthi, 45 and K Mahendran, 18.
All of them hailed from Burgoor village . They came to Andhiyur on Sunday night to sell vegetables and fruits at the market there. They slept in the front portion of an electrical shop, owned by R Rajasekar of Andhiyur.
Around 1.30am, the front portion of the shop collapsed, and all the six men got trapped under the debris. Siddhan, Madevan and Chinnapaiyan died on the spot.
The Andhiyur police rescued others and sent them to Government Hospital. The bodies were sent for postmortem. The police registered a case.
