Can you spot what's wrong with this photo? Shoppers notice a very unfortunate detail in a Kmart clearance sale

  • A travel planner slashed to just 10 cents at Kmart has been met with ridicule
  • Australian customers made light of the situation as overseas travel is banned
  • A shopper shared a picture of the travel planners that were heavily discounted
  • Travel restrictions were put in place since the beginning of the global pandemic
  • Australians and permanent residents have been unable to leave the country

A travel planner marked down to just 10 cents at Kmart has been ridiculed by shoppers on social media - as Australia's borders remain strictly closed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Australian customers made light of the situation after a shopper shared a picture of the travel planners that were heavily discounted in the clearance sale.

Each 'tear off' notepad comes with 60 sheets so travellers can plan out their daily 'destination', 'dates', 'budget' and 'things to do'.

'Kmart with the jokes,' the shopper wrote alongside the picture.

Many quickly responded to the thread with their own jokes.

'Kmart cracking jokes... Travel planners... What am I going to plan on them? My visits to the bathroom?' one woman joked.

Others listed their 'travel plans' around their own home - as some 12 million Australians in Victoria and Greater Sydney are in lockdown over an outbreak of the highly contagious Delta variant which began on June 16.

'My travel plans for today involve the end of the driveway and the furthest corner of the backyard,' one woman said.

Another wrote: 'I went to the letterbox today. I might go to the clothes line tomorrow,' while one added: 'I want to buy that and plan my shopping trips and rubbish bin outings.'

One woman sarcastically said: 'I don't know, you still have to make daily plans for meal, wine or coffee and bathroom stops,' while another added: 'Oh just what I need for my next essential trio to the supermarket.'

Others joked the planners will be handy when you can start travelling again in 2025, while another woman said she was allowed to get dressed up to leave home today.

'I was so excited today. I actually put some "nice" clothes on because I went to the doctors for my second [covid] jab,' she said.

Meanwhile, some suggested the travel planners would be great as Christmas stocking fillers.

'Those would be cool to stock up on for Christmas presents,' one wrote, while another said: 'They will make great Christmas gifts.'

Australian citizens and permanent residents have been unable to leave the country since travel restrictions were put in place at the beginning of the global pandemic.

Travellers can only go overseas if they get an exemption from Border Force.
