THANE: For the last 48 hours, Thane city has been receiving heavy rains and due to that, most lakes in the city have started overflowing.
Thane's famous Masunda lake, also known as Talao Pali, too overflowed, leading to accumulation of the garbage on the edge of the lake.
The garbage and vegetables scrappings were seen floating under the newly constructed glass pathway.
Due to overflowing water, the fish inside the lake were also thrown out on the roadside, and vendors were spotted rushing to collect them.

The lake has been recently beautified. The glass pathway starts from the Mahatma Gandhi garden and ends at the Jambli Naka market.
Meanwhile, in view of heavy rains, Municipal Commissioner Vipin Sharma inspected the sanitation and water storage sites and directed the concerned authorities to take stern action against the establishments dumping garbage on the roads.
He also directed all agencies to remain vigilant and well-equipped.
