Eight teams will lock horns with each other once before the top four teams qualify for the knockouts in this fifth season of the immensely popular Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). The final of the tournament is scheduled to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on August 15, Sunday.
Lyka Kovai Kings will be led by Shahrukh Khan – who gained the spotlight playing for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2021 whereas Salem Spartans will play under the leadership of Daryl Ferrario who will be playing for the first time in the event.
Meanwhile, both teams failed to book a spot in the TNPL 2019 qualifiers and will be hoping to go a step ahead this season. Playing under the name of Tuti Patriots, Salem Spartans finished sixth in the league standings with just two wins in seven games whereas Lyka Kovai MKings finished at fifth spot with four wins in seven games.
With both teams looking to kick off their campaign with a win, an interesting battle is expected to take place. The match will start at 04:30 PM IST and will live stream on the Fancode app for Indian audiences.
