The wait of over 8 lakh students finally got over on Monday as the Tamil Nadu school education minister Mahesh Anbil Poyyamozhi announced the Class 12 results. The results have been made available on the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations's (TNDGE) website for public access.
This year, nearly 8.5 lakh candidates have registered for the Tamil Nadu class 12 examination. The Class 12 board exams in the state were cancelled due to the second wave of Covid-19. The state board schools had completed the class 12 practical exams before April.

How were the marks calculated?
The evaluation criteria for TN 12th result were prepared based on the report submitted by a 10-member committee. Following are the important points and highlights:
It should be noted that the average of the best of three marks in the Class 10 board exam has been taken for giving weightage. For the students who could not appear for the practical exam due to Covid-19, their class 11 marks will be used for the tabulation. If students could not attend both Class 11 and 12 practical exams, their practical marks would be calculated based on Class 10 theory exam marks.

The Tamil Nadu board would allow students — who are not satisfied with the marks — to write the exam and the scores in the exam would be considered as the final result. Once the situation is conducive to hold exams, the board would also conduct a separate exam for private candidates.

Students can find their mark sheets from the websites www.dge.tn.gov.in and www.dge.tn.nic.in from 11 am on July 22, 2021. They have to login with their date of birth and roll number to download their mark sheets.
