TIM launches EUR 2 mln Ceccano FTTH build

Telecom Italia (TIM) announced an agreement with Ceccano town council to begin rolling out a fibre-to-the-home network in the central Italian locality in what will be a total investment of EUR 1.7 million. The company said the build will eventually enable residents in around 5,000 homes to access the internet at download speeds of up to 1 Gbps, up from the current maximum of 200 Mbps. TIM's existing FTTC network in Ceccano already covers around 7,500 homes, equivalent to 97 percent of the local population.
