Rajya Sabha adjourned till 1224 hrs as mark of respect to two sitting members

New Delhi, Jul 19 (UNI) The proceedings of the Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 1224 hrs as a mark of respect to Congress MP Rajeev Satav and MP Raghunath Mohapatra who passed away since the House last met.

As soon the House met at 1100 hrs, Chairman Venkaiah Naidu read out the obituary references to MPs and personalities who passed away since April.

Two sitting members--Congress MP Rajeev Satav and MP Raghunath Mohapatra--had died of COVID-related complications.

Besides, noted actor Dilip Kumar and legendary athlete Milkha Singh were among those remembered.

Since April, the House has lost two sitting and ten former members.
