India always have competition, there are a lot of brilliant players in the country and you have to keep scoring consistently to be on the top. It's like a family sometimes you don't score runs and you sit out. T20 is something different and ODIs you have a lot of time to assess the situation and play accordingly. I will take more time here, absolutely different in this format. It's always lovely to work under Rahul Sir, we had him as a coach for U-19 team and A team. so whatever experience he shares we are mentally prepared for it.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, are coming off a horror tour of England and supposed to play in the qualifiers of the T20 World Cup. To make it worse, their key players — Kusal Mendis and Niroshan Dickwella — are suspended from the India series due to a breach of bio-bubble rules.

Many have touted this Sri Lanka tour as the audition for the young Indian players vying for spots in the T20 World Cup a few months from now in the UAE.

It's not very often you see two Indian teams on tour simultaneously. While a limited-overs squad is in Sri Lanka for three ODIs and three T20Is, the Test team led by Virat Kohli will begin a red-ball series against England on August 4.
