Ghaziabad: Bhavtosh Shankhdhar took charge as the chief medical officer of Ghaziabad on Saturday. Speaking on his priorities, Shankhdhar said that in view of the impending third wave there will be no lack of efforts in tracking, testing and treatment of Covid patients.
Shankhdhar, who is an ophthalmologist, was the CMO of Bulandshahr before he was transferred to Ghaziabad. “The rate of infection in Bulandshahr is not as high as Ghaziabad. I feel Ghaziabad’s proximity to the national capital is partly behind the high number of cases here. So, I will ensure that there is no let-up in tracing, testing and treatment of Covid patients,” Shankhdhar said.
He added that there are pending issues regarding oxygen plants and those will be expedited, and the private hospitals will also be asked to set up their own oxygen plants.
