The majority of folks today are not homophobes. Good or bad, TV is responsible for that. So it’s hard to understand why gay, lesbian and transgender people feel compelled to force their preferences on the rest of us.

Nobody is discriminating against them. It is, however, appropriate to properly define the subject and develop certain parameters. The fact that we are now labeling children makes it clear that things are on thin ice.

At what point is it child abuse to urge chidren to “identify” themselves? It’s worse when we try to identify them. There is no good reason to hinder childhood development.

Straight people have rights, too. Our lifestyle and beliefs are traditional. Expecting a change in legal or religious norms is not practical. The other lifestyles need to figure out how to conform without being a burden on the rest of us.

You can seek to change the law and religious beliefs, but you will do it with your own resources and in a professional, respectful manner. (If it helps, straight lives matter, too.)
