Noida: A 34-year-old private company executive on his way to Surajpur was allegedly thrashed and robbed of several gold items and Rs 60,000 by three men after he took a lift in their car. After the robbery, the trio dumped him near Sharda University and sped away.
The alleged crime comes just days after a 62-year-old Delhi man going to attend a wedding in Aligarh was allegedly assaulted and robbed of money by four men who had offered him a lift in their private cab from the Sector 37 bus stand. In the latest case, Bhushan claimed that he was standing at the Botanical Garden bus stand on Tuesday morning when a car arrived near him and the driver agreed to drop him in Surajpur. He boarded the cab in which two other accused were already seated.
After driving via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway for a few minutes, the accused overpowered Bhushan and started thrashing him. Bhushan was forced to hand over his gold ring, silver ring, gold locket and Rs 60,000 cash that he had.
Sector 39 SHO Azad Singh Tomar told TOI that the accused later dumped Bhushan near Sharda University. He later approached the Sector 39 police, and an FIR was subsequently lodged under IPC Section 392 (robbery).
