Guna: District administration Guna, a joint team of food and revenue department conducted raids on big hotels and factories of Guna city on Friday.
The team inspected Sanjay Dal Mill, Ved Dal Mill and Deepak Dal Mill in the industrial area and took samples dal for testing.
The team inspected Hotel Rajvilas, Hotel GK, and kitchen of Jain Garden and The Grand Kasturi and took samples of food items like paneer, soybean oil, flour for testing.
Another team of the fooda, municipality and revenue department conducted a drive in Aron Tehsil.
The team got the contaminated and expired food items from grocery shops, and destroyed them along with the and took samples of namkeen for investigation.
The team destroyed 41 packets of expired namkeen, 6 packets of toast, 7 packets of chilli powder, one packet of soybean oil were found at Banjhal grocery, 30 packets of namkeen found at RomilKirana, 10 packets of chilli powder, found at Nehru grocery, 10 packets of namkeen found at Roshan grocery and 25 packets of namkeen found at Mahavir grocery.
Food officer Manoj Raghuvanshi said that the packets of food items at these shops were found to have passed best before date.
Food traders were directed by the food safety officers to keep and sell high quality pure food items for human consumption. All the samples taken for testing have been sent to the food analyst, State Food Testing Laboratory, Bhopal. Further legal action will be taken on receipt of the reports.
‘Bad’ cooking oil destroyed
Barwani: A team of district Food and Drug Administration collected samples of food items from grocery shops and hotels in the Bus stand, Jhanda Chowk and Karanja area. Fifty one samples of pulses, cooking oil, and ground spices were tested at Food Testing Laboratory. The TPM value of cooking oil used in 02 hotels was found to be more than the standard level. It was destroyed on the spot. Food safety officer Pankaj Anchal said that the division level mobile food testing laboratory will visit in all the sub-divisions of the district. Its purpose is to provide information about the quality of the food items being used by the general public and shopkeepers and in case of shortage, issue correction notices to the shopkeepers and get the deficiencies removed. Food safety officer Pankaj Anchal, Velsingh Mori, Premlata Bhavar and lab technician Neeraj Prajapat were present.
