Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered after Kurumgarh encounter

Ranchi, Jul 17 (UNI) Huge cache of arms and ammunition including AK-47 and Insas rifles have been recovered by the security forces after the search and combing operations in Kurumgarh of Gumla district, where Regional Committee member of CPI Maoists Budheshwar Oraon who was carrying a reward of Rs 15 lakh was killed by the security forces.
Briefing the press at Jharkhand Police Headquarters ADG Operations Sanjay Anand Latkar said that in the encounter which had taken place on July 15 apart from Budheshwar many other ultras had also sustained bullet injuries and search was on to nab them.
He said that during the combing operations 1 AK-47, 2 magazines of AK-47, 66 live cartridges of AK-47, 2 Insas Rifles, 8 magazines of Insas Rifles, 156 live cartridges of 5.56 bore, 4 IEDs, Rs 49,000 in cash, 3 nine volt batteries, 6 detonators, uniform, pen drive, mobiles, chargers, medicines, and items of daily use have been recovered.
He said that killing of the dreaded ultra is a great achievement of police and the cash award declared on his head will be distributed among the officials and jawans as per due process.
