Assam govt withdraws notification that waived off COVID test in airport and railway stations

Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health & Family Welfare Department stated, “Whereas, strict containment measures including continuous screening of incoming passengers through airports and railway stations are being conducted in the state of Assam to prevent spread of COVID.

COVID positivity is observed even in some of the person(s) who have received two doses of vaccination in a few instances.
Assam government has withdrawn the earlier notification which waived COVID test in airport and railway stations for persons who took two doses of vaccine.

Anurag Goel, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health & Family Welfare Department stated, “Whereas, strict containment measures including continuous screening of incoming passengers through airports and railway stations are being conducted in the state of Assam to prevent spread of COVID; and Whereas, COVID positivity is observed even in some of the person(s) who have received two doses of vaccination in a few instances.”

He added, “Therefore, this earlier office Order No. HLA.264/2020/21 Dated Dispur the 25th June, 2021, exempting people who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID vaccine from mandatory testing on arrival at airports or railway stations in Assam, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect”.
