‘Women will play major role in bringing Cong back to power’

All India Mahila Congress in-charge Dr Seema Fernandes said that women will play a major role in bringing Congress back to power in 2022 Assembly election. 
Speaking at an event to mark the appointment of 10 mahila block Congress committees, Fernandes said the Congress party had always respected women. “Congress party has always respected the women and our governments have always taken initiatives to empower the women in the country.

 I am confident that women in Goa will play a major role in bringing back Congress to power,” she said. 
The five block
committees of South Goa include block presidents Doris Teixeira for Margao, Ursila Costa for Canacona, Aldreina for Quepem, Sonia Fernandes for Cuncolim and Rajani Raikar
for Navelim.

Appointment letters were also presented to Roshan Dessai of Valpoi, Parvati Nagvekar of Siolim, Sonal Malvankar of Saligao, Pelajia Pires of St Andre and Maria Christina Varela of Cumbarjua. 
The Mahila Congress president Beena Naik appealed to all the newly-appointed block presidents and office bearers to “go all out and strengthen the Congress party at
booth levels.”
