NCP workers submitted a memorandum, addressed to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, to SDO of Pusad
YAVATMAL: Alleging an attempt by the BJP to “misappropriate” the credit for development of Navi Mumbai and surrounding region by ignoring the work done former chief minister Vasantrao Naik, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers protested in Pusad on Friday against the saffron party’s state vice-president Chitra Wagh.
The youths condemned Wagh’s recent remarks in which she credited BJP leader Ganesh Naik with the development of Navi Mumbai and termed him as the real architect.
Demanding action against Wagh, the NCP workers submitted a memorandum, addressed to chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, to SDO of Pusad.
The NCP workers pointed out that Vasantrao Naik, who was chief minister of Maharashtra for 11 years, remains the longest-serving CM of state. He was instrumental in introducing “green revolution” in the state which brought a radical change in the agricultural front, they said..
The memorandum was signed by Arvind Chavan, Sunil Kashinath, Namdev Chavan, Avinash Rathod and others.
