Ireland created history by beating the visiting South Africa in the second one-day international convincingly by 43 runs. Skipper Andy Balbirnie starred for the hosts again smashing his seventh ODI century and stitched important partnerships with Harry Tector and George Dockrell, helping his side reach a score of 290.
South Africa at one point looked well on the course of the chase with Janneman Malan and Rassie van der Dussen going great guns. However, losing both of them in quick succession didn't help South Africa and they eventually lost the game. The visitors now will be hoping to avoid a series loss and win the third game to level the series.
