One Journalist of Ireibak press Succumbed to Covid-19. Saikhom Shantikumar age 51 year succumbed to Covid-19 at PGI Hospital Chandigarh on dated 6 June , Sunday.

He is from Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai, Imphal East has been serving as the Sub-Editor of Ireibak daily newspaper.

He is survived by his wife and a son and a daughter.

Yet another journalist from Manipur has fallen victim to COVID-19 . Former president of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, Sagolsem Hemant passed away a few days back after being infected with the virus.

Saikhom Santikumar, Sub Editor of Ireibak daily passed away at PGI Hospital, Chandigarh, today. He was 51 .

AMWJU in its condolence message, said that Santikumar was admitted at PGI Hospital for kidney-related ailments on January 28, 2021 . He contracted COVID-19 a few days back.

Members of AMWJU's standing and advisory committees observed two-minute silence during a condolence meeting held at Manipur Press Club and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
