Dry Ridge man dead after being ejected from a tow truck in a two-vehicle wreck near Walton Thursday night

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says a passenger in a tow truck was ejected from the vehicle and died after a wreck on northbound Interstate 75 near Walton late Thursday night.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says a passenger in a tow truck was ejected from the vehicle and died after a wreck on northbound Interstate 75 near Walton, Kentucky, late Thursday night.

The sheriff's office said   driver of a 2020 Freightliner flatbed tow truck struck the rear of a tractor-trailer   about 11:30 p.m.

David Matthews, Jr., of  Dry Ridge, the passenger ejected from the tow truck, died at the scene, the sheriff's office said.

The office said the tow truck driver was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The wreck remains under investigation.
