Italian watchdog clears Asterion bid to take over Retelit

Italian financial market regulator Consob has approved the bid by Spanish infrastructure fund Asterion Industrial Partners to buy out Italian telecommunications infrastructure provider Retelit via its indirectly-owned fund Marbles. Under the terms of the takeover prospectus cleared by watchdog, Asterion has agreed to pay out EUR 2.85 per share during a subscription period starting on 26 July and ending on 10 September. Retelit owns a 14,000 kilometre fibre-optic network and has been subject to so-called 'golden power' legislation aimed at protecting strategic industries since 2018, which is
