Chandel, July 15 2021: District Administration and District Health Society of Chandel have felicitated the first pregnant woman and lactating mother of the district who vaccinated against COVID-19, by bestowing simple gifts and certificates today.

Th Tuberose, a resident of New Khongjon village, is the fist pregnant woman from Chandel who received Covid vaccine while Dr Zingpi Tarao of Liwa Changning village, is the first lactating mother from the district to be vaccinated against the disease.

The two women were given a cash award, certificate of appreciation and a simple gift by Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar and Chief Medical Officer Dr Serthani Serbum.

Speaking to media persons, Mayanglambam Rajkumar said that the two women were felicitated for their deed encourages other expecting and lactating mothers to get vaccinated against the highly transmissible COVID-19 .

Th Tuberose, who is said to have received the Covid vaccine jab on July 6, said that she has not encountered any side effects of the vaccine till date and urged all to get vaccinated without hesitation.
