THANE: The
Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (
KDMC) came down heavily on illegal constructions in the twin cities on Friday.
The action was taken in various administrative wards of Kalyan, Dombivli, and
Mohane by respective ward officers, and warnings were issued to the concerned persons.
In Dombivli, 10/E ward officer Bharat Patil along with police personnel and KDMC officials demolished an illegally constructed pillar of a ground-plus-one structure located in Ganesh Nagar, Nandivali.
The pillar was taken down with the help of a JCB machine and a compressor to avoid damage to surrounding structures.
In the 1/A ward of KDMC, officer Rajesh Sawant stayed the work of an illegal structure that was being constructed in Yadav Nagar, Mohane.
Similarly, in ward 5/D of KDMC, officer Sudhir Mokal along with officials of the encroachment department vacated land in
Katemanivali where a mobile tower was being set up illegally.
Since the past few days, the civic body has been taking stringent action against illegal structures and encroachments across the twin cities.
The action has been ordered by KDMC chief Vijay Suryawanshi.
