LUCKNOW: In a bid to escalate agitation against the ruling BJP in the state, more than 36 farmer unions have come together to form the UP Farmers’ Coordination Committee. The decision was taken in a meeting organised by the All-India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) in Lucknow on Thursday.
National general secretary of AIKS and CPI leader Atul Anjaan said a statewide demonstration against the BJP government would be called on August 9, to mark the anniversary of the Quit India Movement of 1942. A rally will be organised the same day in Ghosi assembly constituency in Mau district of east UP.
