Spain to bring 100Mbps broadband to 1.5 mln rural homes in EUR 250 mln investment

The Spanish government said over 1.58 million homes and office premises located in underserved areas all over the country are eligible to access the EUR 250 million in funding made available under the new UNICO-Broadband Programme. In a statement, the country's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation said the new programme will replace the longstanding PEBA NGA programme and now encompasses the installation of broadband services in 'grey' as well as 'white' areas.
