Trae Young seems to be getting the cold shoulder from Team USA.
The Hawks point guard took to Twitter Thursday to hint that he’s out of the running for the replacement roster spot with Team USA, following news that Bradley Beal will not join the 12-man team at the Tokyo Olympics.
Young tweeted a clip from “The Last Dance,” that showed 12-time All-Star point guard Isiah Thomas discussing being left off the 1992 Dream Team.
“I don’t know what went into that process. I met that criteria to be selected, but I wasn’t,” Thomas said in the clip. Young added a sad face and American Flag emoji in his post.
The Pistons legend reacted to Young’s tweet with a few crying-laughing emojis.
Beal was yanked from the lineup indefinitely Thursday after entering Team USA’s health and safety protocols the day before.
Team USA has not yet announced a replacement for Beal, and is set to do so at a later time.
Young followed up with a cryptic lyric from Drake’s forthcoming “Certified Lover Boy” album, which the Grammy-winner previewed in May.
βI been losing friends & finding peace, honestly that sounds like a fair trade to me,” Young quoted the rapper, adding his signature snowflake emoji alongside a photo of him walking toward a private plane.
A third tweet by Young read, “I wanna see all my brothers eat.”

In his third season with the Hawks, Young had a storybook playoff debut.
He averaged 25.3 points and 9.4 assists per game over 63 games and led Atlanta to the playoffs for the first time in his career β where he upped his stats averaging 28.8 points and 9.5 in 16 postseason games on the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
USA Basketball, on Thursday, announced the cancellation of an exhibition game between the U.S. menβs basketball team and Australia, scheduled for Friday in Las Vegas due to COVID-19 protocols. The move was made out of an abundance of caution.
Team USA’s Jerami Grant reportedly entered health and safety protocols Thursday. Grant did not test positive for COVID-19, according to The Athletic.
