SIDHARTH MALHOTRA’S SHERSHAAH TO RELEASE ON 12 AUGUST

MUMBAI : Actor Sidharth Malhotra-starrer ‘Shershaah’ is all set to release digitally on August 12. On Thursday, the makers unveiled the teaser of the film, which is is based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra. For the unversed, Vikram Batra laid down his life in the service of the nation while recapturing Indian territories from Pakistani intruders during the Kargil War in 1999. And due to his immense bravery, he was given the title of ‘Sher Shah’.

Siddharth will be seen essaying the role of Captain Vikram Batra. In teaser, we get a glimpse of real footage from the Kargil War. We can also see Siddharth donning the army uniform with the name of Vikram Batra. Sidharth is extremely proud to step into the shoes of Vikram Batra.

“Heroes live on through their stories. We are honoured to bring to you the true story of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC).A film which has had a long journey for me and a real life character I am proud to play,” he wrote on Instagram while sharing the teaser’s link. Directed by Vishnu Varadhan and jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment, ‘Shershaah’ also features actors Kiara Advani, Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer and Anil Charanjeett.

Karan Johar, Dharma Productions’ head honcho, said, “’Shershaah’, the true story of a war hero whose indomitable spirit and bravery brought victory to our nation. His sacrifices are invaluable and his life is an inspiration for generations to come.”

ZOYA AKHTAR’S ‘ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA’ CLOCKS 10 YEARS

NEW DELHI: Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar’s road comedy-drama, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, clocked 10 years on Thursday. Reminiscing the movie, Zoya shared a social media post that would bring back memories for fans of the film.

She took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of the iconic Buick super convertible, which was an important element of the film, especially the song ‘Khaabon Ke Parinday’. Captioning the picture, Zoya wrote, “Time To Take The Car Out Again”. Using several hashtags, she added, “Thank You to the best Cast and Crew EVAH!”

The post which garnered more than 11 thousand likes, got several comments from B-town celebs. Actor Hrithik Roshan, who starred in the film, wrote, “Hahaha yeah baby!” Karan Johar appreciated Zoya by writing, “What a beautiful film Zo!! One of my all time favourites.”

‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, which attained a cult status and gave major traveling and friendship goals, resonated well with the audience leading it to become an instant hit upon its release.

Starring Hrithik, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles, it followed the story of four friends who rediscover themselves and their relationship with each other on a road trip.

NEVER HAD OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ACTING WHEN I WAS ASPIRING: AKSHAY KUMAR

MUMBAI : Actor Akshay Kumar recently said that he takes inspiration from real life to portray characters on screen. On Thursday, Akshay took to Instagram and announced that he will conduct a masterclass in acting for aspiring actors on the SocialSwag application. Along with it, he posted a video, wherein he opened up about his process of acting and how he never had the opportunity to formally learn acting.

“I go my own way…this is my method. I take the inspiration of how to play a character from real life. You all can be remembered lifetime even with a minute role… so through this session, I would like to share with you my learnings from my 30 years of experience in Indian cinema,” Akshay said in the clip. He added, “When I was an aspiring actor, we never had opportunities to formally learn the ropes. Times have changed. You can now attend my professional masterclass and draw lessons from my 30 year journey of some success and loads of pitfalls.”

Akshay is currently working on his film ‘Raksha Bandhan’, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar and Nushrratt Bharuccha. A few days ago, he had revealed that he has gained extra kilos for his role in the movie. “I quite enjoy the process of losing or gaining weight for a character because I am able to do it in a healthy way. I have gained 5 kg in a totally natural process,” he said at the time. “And it also allowed me the rare indulgence of eating meri maa ke haath ka halwa. What a blessing,” he added. Apart from ‘Raksha Bandhan’, the actor also has ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Ram Setu’ and ‘Bachchan Pandey’ in the pipeline.

JEH: KAREENA AND SAIF NAME THEIR SECOND CHILD

MUMBAI: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan have named their second son Jeh. A picture of Kareena and a child who may be Jeh is going viral on social media.

Kareena Kapoor’s father Randhir Kapoor confirmed the name Jeh for Kareena’s second child. Jeh was born in February 2021. Kareena and Saif Ali Khan have remained private about their second child’s name and kept his face hidden from fans and the paparazzi. Kareena Kapoor Khan recently released details of her pregnancy journey in her book titled Pregnancy Bible. The book showcases the actress’s experiences through her two pregnancies.

A collage of baby Taimur and what is being said as baby Jeh is doing round on social media. A fan page of Kareena Kapoor Khan shared the first photo of her son Jeh, the actress’ second child. Kareena and Saif have not officially shared any photo of their second child. Kareena had earlier shared a photo of Taimur holding the newborn in her arms. The fan page called ‘therealkareenakapoor’ on social media shared the photo. The photo may have been taken from the ‘Pregnancy Bible’ and Kareena’s note of dedication – “To the most handsome men in my life, my strength, my world – Saifu, Taimur and Jeh.”

WILL SMITH’S COACH TRAINED DARSHAN FOR ‘TOOFAN’

Actor Darshan Kumar, who recently impressed cinema lovers with his skilful portrayal of Major Sameer in The Family Man, will next be seen in the film Toofaan. The Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra project, featuring Farhan Akhtar, is a sports drama and Darshan will be seen playing a boxer in it.

Darshan is known for preparing for all his roles seriously, and he underwent professional boxing training to deliver an authentic performance on screen for Toofaan. He learnt from celebrity trainer Darrell Foster and calls it “a once in a lifetime experience”.

Talking about the sessions and what went into the prep, Darshan says, “I remember that in our first meeting, Darrell said that he would teach me how to take a punch and not fake a punch. He said he won’t train me for a film, but he’d train me as a real pro boxer. That’s what the audience will get to witness when they watch the film. They’ll feel that they are watching two real pro boxers” Darshan adds that the exhaustive training sessions with Darrell happened from 7 am to 3 pm for a month. “Those were one of the best moments of my life that I will cherish for a lifetime,” he added.

TAAPSEE ANNOUNCES FIRST PROJECT UNDER HER PRODUCTION HOUSE

NEW DELHI: After announcing the launch of her production house Outsiders Films on Thursday, Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu has now unveiled the first look of her banner’s first production venture ‘Blurr’.

Taapsee, who herself has starred in thrillers like ‘Haseen Dilruba’, ‘Badla’, among others revealed that the movie will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller. The film co-written by Pawan Sony and Ajay Bahl will be helmed by Bahl who has directed films like ‘Section 375’ and ‘BA Pass’.

Making the big announcement, Taapsee tweeted, “And here’s the first one of the slate. The chill to match the thrill ! #BLURR! @ZeeStudios_ #OutsidersFilms & @echelonmumbai come together for an edge of the seat thriller. Directed by #AjayBahl. @itsvishal_rana @pranjalnk #PawanSony.”

Speaking about turning a producer with her partner Pranjal Khandhdiya and producing ‘Blurr’, Taapsee shared, “Blurr is the just kind of script I was waiting for. I’m delighted to be finally turning a producer with this film and with the support of co-producers and team, I’m sure it’s going to be an enriching journey. Collaborating with Ajay is as exciting as it gets as I’ve seen his work. He is the best to bring the gripping story of Blurr on-screen.”

Stating that ‘Blurr’ will be a thought-provoking and intriguing story for him as a director, Bahl, who is known for his critically acclaimed films also shared that this association between Zee Studios and Taapsee will surely make the film a memorable one.

He added, “With the massive scale it promises and the narrative it brings along I believe BLURR will not only be a power-packed entertainer, but it will stay with the audience too. The reason being, it is not only an arresting psychological thriller but it also has an intriguing social context.”

This isn’t the first time that Taapsee has delved into entrepreneurship, the 33-year-old actor additionally also owns a wedding planning firm and a badminton team known as 7 Aces Pune. The 33-year-old-actor is set for a season chock-a-bloc with her next Looop Lapeta, Rashmi Rocket, DooBaaraa and Shabaash Mithu.

SHILPA SHETTY SHARES EXPERIENCE OF WORKING WITH PRIYADARSHAN

Ahead of the release of ‘Hungama 2’, Shilpa Shetty Kundra opened up about her experience of working with filmmaker Priyadarshan and her co-star Paresh Rawal.“I can’t tell you how excited I am, I always wanted to work with Paresh ji in a comedy with Priyadarshan. This is really a tick on my bucket list. This has always been a lethal combination with Paresh, Priyadarshan and with a franchise that has been extremely successful before,” she said in a statement.

Shilpa also expressed happiness on reuniting with Johny Lever, who was a part of her debut film ‘Baazigar’.“Johny bhai, Rajpal ji these are all fabulous artists.
