Rapper SpotemGottem Arrested After Allegedly Pointing Gun at Parking Attendant

Rapper SpotemGottem was arrested on Thursday in a hotel room in Aventura, Florida, following an investigation into an incident that took place in June, investigators said.

The 19-year-old rapper, whose real name is Nehemiah Lamar Harden, was apprehended on an arrest warrant in room 746 at the AC Hotel Miami Aventura around 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Harden faces several charges including aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and accessory after the fact to a felony pending the investigation warranted by the alleged incident on June 20.

The victim of the alleged incident, a parking attendant at a garage in Miami Beach, told police that he was working when four Dodge Chargers, one white, one green, one gray and one burgundy, arrived at the location and parked.

Local 10 News reported that a dispute took place over the cost of an $80 parking fee, and police said that Harden pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. He allegedly said, "You know what it is," before the cars fled.

Harden was lying in bed at the time of his arrest with an AK-47 pistol next to him. According to detectives, the gun was "within reach and readily accessible for immediate use."

He was granted an $18,500 bond at a hearing on Friday, according to NBC 6.

Three other men were arrested as well for their alleged involvement in the parking garage incident, according to Local 10 News, however, no other details on the other suspects are believed to be released.

This is not Harden's first charge, as the 19-year-old rapper was arrested in 2017 for possession of a concealed weapon and grand theft auto. Only 15 years old at the time, Harden and a friend were arrested after their car broke down, and they and another suspect decided to steal another one.

The third suspect, according to police, had found a 2011 Nissan Frontier and fled the scene after learning his friends had been caught.

Harden recently reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for his 2020 single, "Beat Box," which went viral on TikTok and has since received remixes from other rappers, including DaBaby, Deante' Hitchcock, Latto, Polo G, Lil Yachty and NLE Choppa.

SpotemGottem is scheduled to perform next week at Rolling Loud Miami Festival, and it is unclear if that will change pending the investigation. If he does perform, he will be alongside rappers A$AP Rocky, Kodak Black, Roddy Ricch, Gucci Mane and Young Thug, as well as others at the festival.

Newsweek reached out to Aventura Police Department for comment but did not hear back in time for publication.
