Registrations for undergraduate courses at Delhi University will start on August 2 and registrations for masters and doctorate programmes will be allowed from July 26. The national capital recorded 66 fresh Covid-19 cases and one death on Friday, while the positivity rate dropped to 0.09%. The single new fatality has pushed the death toll in the city to 25,023, stated the latest bulletin. On Thursday, Delhi logged 72 cases and one death with a positivity rate of 0.10%. On Wednesday, it saw 77 cases and one death, while on Tuesday the daily infection tally was 76 with two deaths. In other news, even though the number of Covid-19 cases in the capital have remained the same over the last week, doctors report a significant rise in the incidences of cough and sore throat — symptoms to both Covid-19 and seasonal flu. Around 87,000 people were vaccinated against coronavirus in Delhi on Friday and less than one day's stock of vaccine was available in the city, according to official data. According to the CoWin portal, over 71,000 beneficiaries received vaccine jabs on Saturday. The vaccination bulletin released by the Delhi government said over 92 lakh doses have been administered in the city since the inoculation exercise started on January 16. (PTI)

The registration process for 20,000 postgraduate (PG) seats and for the Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) courses will begin on July 26, he said. The last date for registration of PG programmes is August 21 and for UG programmes is August 31. (PTI)

A Delhi court has denied bail to two directors of a city-based real estate company arrested for allegedly starting projects on land not belonging to the firm and selling the units without necessary approvals. Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Abhilash Malhotra said the grant of bail in such economic cases needs to be dealt with “strictly” so that people do not lose faith in the criminal justice system. Delhi Police arrested a gangster after a brief exchange of firing in Rohini. The identified person namely Gaurav alias Monti was held on Friday.
