Fresh cases of Covid-19 in Tamil Nadu dropped further on Thursday, when the state reported 2,405 new cases compared to 2,458 on Wednesday. A fetus of a five-month-old was retrieved from the garbage bin of the Tamil Nadu Express (New Delhi-MGR Chennai Central) at Basin Bridge yard on Wednesday afternoon. The train from New Delhi the Chennai Central in the wee hours of Wednesday and was moved to the yard for sanitisation. Around 1 pm, the cleaning staff noticed the fetus in the garbage bin in unreserved coach D-1, and subsequently alerted senior officials. On information, the railway police retrieved the fetus and sent it to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. A case has been registered.
In all, 597 police personnel in the city were awarded Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's constabulary medal on Thursday. NEET exam will be conducted in at least four more districts — Chengalpattu, Virudhunagar, Dindigul and Tirupur — in TN this year in addition to the 14 districts in which the test was conducted last year for the convenience of TN students, Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Thursday. City cops arrest three ‘couriers’ who brought 114kg of ganja from AP
