Samsung asks for tax incentives for USD 17 bln chip making plant in Texas

Samsung could locate its next chipmaking plant in Texas, though not in Austin, where it already operates one, Reuters reported, citing a document filed with Texas state officials. The company has applied for tax breaks for a plant that would be located in Williamson County. According to the document, Samsung will invest over USD 17 billion into the facility, and create 1,800 new jobs.
