Watch: A glimpse of exotic birds at Jungle safari near Statue of Unity

This Jungle Safari is an adventure ride, which gives an opportunity to explore the unexplored trails and untouched natural horizons. Clusters have been designed to house the animals’ continent-wise namely Australia, Africa and South America.

A state-of-art zoological park with unique collection of indigenous and exotic animals and birds from the various biogeographic regions of the world, is located at the picturesque hills near the tallest statue of the world “The Statue of Unity” and “The Sardar Sarovar Dam” at Kevadia. This zoo will take you through an adventurous and exciting trip of watching wildlife, enjoying scenic beauty of the hills and entertaining experiences of a lifetime.

The Jungle Safari covers 375 acres at seven different levels ranging from an altitude or elevation of 29 metres to 180 metres, on the right bank of the Narmada River, near Statue of Unity.

The park is a home to more than 186 species of fauna, covering various biomes of Africa, Australia, Asia and America. Visitors will also be able to spot India’s endangered species, which includes the magnificent big cats such as Asiatic Lion, Royal Bengal Tiger and Leopard. The safari route has been designed such, that the visitors can view animal activities, spot reptiles and watch birds.

The significant feature of this park is that, the visitors can see animals in an open environment and the forest will provide the effect of a Jungle Safari kind of tour. The undulating terrain of Vindhya hills makes it an ideal abode for the creatures here.

Another highlight is the walk through Aviary, harbouring the finest of indigenous birds. Here the visitors can walk amidst of the birds specific to varied habitats, which have been created simulating the natural habitat of each of the species. The view will not be obstructed by the bars of the cages. It has two aviaries housing large number of birds.

These aviaries, constructed as geodesic domes are among the largest geodesic domes in India (Indian Aviary is 150 meters long, 50 meters wide and 15 meters high & Exotic Aviary is 125 meters long, 35 meters wide and 15 meters high).

Each of the enclosures has been specifically enriched, so as to keep the animal active and vigorous. The safari route has been designed to enable visitors observe animals, reptiles and birds in near-natural surroundings.

An additional key feature is the landscaping that soothes the senses of all. Even the landscaping inside enclosures is in tandem with the original habitat of the animals and birds.
