Kunda BDO thrashed by villagers in Chatra, accused of sexual harassment

Chatra, Jul 15 (UNI) Block Development Officer cum Circle Officer of Kunda block Shravan Ram was thrashed by villagers for eve-teasing.
Villagers said that the BDO had committed some wrong act with a girl and after the officer put pressure on the girl and her family to keep the matter hidden things got blown out. On the other hand, the girl has registered a complaint against the officer at the police station.
Police sources said that the girl has accused the BDO of sexual exploitation over the pretext of marriage while the officer has accused the family and the girl of blackmailing and using casteist slurs. The BDO has accused the brother-in-law of the girl of hatching the conspiracy to extort money from him and malign his image.
Meanwhile, Simaria SDPO Ashok Priyadarshi said that the girl and the BDO have both filed the complaint against each other at the police station and necessary action is being taken.
