Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung hailed the CAF Champions League final a "historic moment for the club" ahead of the much-anticipated fixture in Morocco on Saturday.
Amakhosi have defied all expectations as they made it to the final of Africa's premier club competition this year, setting up a showdown with a familiar face in Pitso Mosimane's Al Ahly.
And, with the highly anticipated encounter being hosted in the coastal city of Casablanca, the "entire team and support officials" boarded a chartered flight at OR Tambo on Thursday.
"We are looking forward to the journey," Motaung told the club's official website.
"This is a historic moment for the club.
"It has been a long journey for the team, and the time has arrived to complete what we have started on 29th November in Cameroon."
Motaung added: "It is a special moment for our supporters and partners.
"We would not have reached this stage without their support. We are humbled to represent South Africa at this pinnacle of continental football.
"We will carry the flag and carry the hopes of the Nation with pride."
Chiefs sealed their place in the final after recording a 1-0 aggregate victory over Wydad AC while Al Ahly defeated ES Tunis 4-0 over two legs.
The CAF Champions League final kicks off at 21:00 at the Mohammed V Stadium on Saturday.
