Bed Bath & Beyond to add Casper Sleep items to stores and e-commerce site

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. BYND, -6.10% will add Casper Sleep Inc. CSPR, -7.31% merchandise to the home goods retailer's e-commerce site, app and at select stores, the two companies announced Thursday. Casper will launch its first shop-in-shop at the redesigned Bed Bath & Beyond flagship in New York City, which will open on July 22, and bring merchandise to the city's Tribeca store and a Bed Bath & Beyond location in Bridgewater, NJ. Additional stores will be added in the coming months. In addition to its own e-commerce site, Casper has 70 retail locations. Goldman Sachs warned in a report this week that Casper's expansion into other retailers could pose a gross margin risk. Bed Bath & Beyond stock has soared 57% for the year to date. Casper Sleep shares are up 15.5%. And the benchmark S&P 500 index SPX, +0.12% has gained 16.5% for the period.
