Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 25-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging from a tree in Nazirabad area of Bhopal, police said on Thursday.

The man identified as Mukesh Gurjar, a resident of village Damila, went to a temple and performed a special ‘Puja’ before taking extreme steps. The police, however, said that the exact reason that prompted Gurjar to end his life was yet to be ascertained.

According to police, some villagers spotted Gurjar’s body hanging from a tree on Wednesday night. “On getting information, a team was sent to the spot. The family members of the deceased have identified him. His two-wheeler was also recovered from the spot. Prima facie, it seems to be a case of suicide,” said BP Singh, in-charge of Nazirabad police station. He further added that no suicide note was recovered from spot.

“We also got information that he had visited a temple and performed puja before committing suicide,” Singh said.
