Just Eat Takeaway sees profitability returning with strong order growth
AMSTERDAM, July 15 (Reuters) - European food-ordering firm Just Eat Takeaway.com NV on Thursday said it expected profitability to improve in the time to come, as it reported a 51% surge in overall orders for the first six months of 2021.
Chief executive Jitse Groen said he believed operational (adjusted EBITDA) losses, partly caused by the recent acquisition of Grubhub in the United States, had peaked.
"We therefore expect to trend back to profitability going forward while retaining significant growth during the second half of the year," he said. (Reporting by Bart Meijer)
