Canada home sales, average price fall on month in June

OTTAWA, July 15 (Reuters) - Canadian home sales fell 8.4% in June from May, with the average selling price inching down, data from the Canadian Real Estate Association showed on Thursday.

The national average selling price was C$679,000 ($540,777) in June, down 2.4% from May but up 25.9% from a year earlier, the industry group said.

Actual sales, not seasonally adjusted, rose 13.6% from a year earlier, while CREA's Home Price Index was up 24.4% on the year and up 0.9% from May. ($1 = 1.2556 Canadian dollars) (Reporting by Julie Gordon in Ottawa; editing by John Stonestreet)
