Jharkhand Cabinet to launch new industrial policies

Jharkhand Industrial and Investment Policy (JIPP) 2021 has been initiated by the state cabinet which is going to replace the existing Jharkhand Industrial Policy of 2016. According to Vandana Dadel, Cabinet Secretary, the JIPP will be effective for five years and with this policy, the government aims to fetch investments worth Rs 1 Lakh in the state and offer employment to as many as 5 Lakh people.

According to the report generated by TOI, the JIPP aims to focus on 20 sector-specific industries. Eight industries out of these 20 have been termed as the high-priority sectors. Some of these high-priority sectors are tourism, warehousing, renewable energy, breweries, logistics, and education.

The proposal given by the state department of health was also approved by the ministerial council. In this proposal, it was said that the department will provide a one-time financial disbursement to all outsourced employees working in the Covid-19 wards, Covid-19 control warehouses and offices during the pandemic. Dabel added that this one-time disbursement is equivalent to the monthly honorariums of the medical staff.

Dabel has announced that the Nursing staff will be paid between Rs 800 to Rs 1,500 per shift. He also said that this one-time arrangement is been provided keeping in mind the Covid scenario in the country. Joint entrance examinations are prohibited and candidates will be screened as per their marks in graduation courses.
