This comes after india firmly told the dragon country that the prolonging the status quo in eastern Ladakh is adversely effecting the bilateral ties.

During an in-person meeting in tajikistan on Wednesday, External Affairs minister S jaishankar told his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi that any unilateral change in the existing situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is "not acceptable" to New delhi and that the bilateral ties can positively start only after full restoration of peace in eastern Ladakh.

The meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital took place amid a stalemate in the military disengagement process between the two asain giants in the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh follwing a series of negotiations to resove the border conflict since last year.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its webiste, Wang stated that Indo-China relations remained at a low point despite the border situation has generally been easing with the withdrawal of troops. Wang, however repeated that china was not responsible for India-China border tussle and the beijing is ready to seek a mutually acceptable solution for issues that require urgent treatment through consultation with India.

Though china has withdrawn its troops from Pangong lake and Galwan valley, the troops are still present at friction points like Gogra, Depsang and Hot Springs in eastern Ladakh.
