NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta in a tweet in Hindi on Thursday urged people to make video films if anyone from municipal corporations seeks bribes for doing any work and hand it to the Delhi BJP for taking required action.
He stated that irrespective of the stature of the person seeking bribe, strict action will be taken against them because BJP has always been intolerant towards corruption and is working with a zero tolerance policy in the corporations.
The remarks ahead of the 2022 municipal elections is significant because BJP is trying to stress that it will not tolerate any corruption. AAP has been accusing the three BJP ruled corporations of being neck-deep in corruption. BJP currently rules all three corporations of Delhi. Delhi will witness municipal polls in early 2022.
Meanwhile, in a press conference on Thursday, Delhi BJP chief said the BJP run corporations will provide corruption free and transparent administration so that people get primary education, health and other services more efficiently and smoothly.
In the press conference which was also addressed by the mayors of the three corporations, Gupta said all three corporations have intensified cleanliness work in their areas. In all the corporations all the drains will have already been cleaned.
“Water from these small drains flow into big ones which come under Delhi government. I appeal to CM Arvind Kejriwal to get these drains cleaned so that the capital does not face waterlogging during rain,” Gupta said.
