Ramesh Bais took the oath as the 10th Governor of Jharkhand at Birsa Mandap, Raj Bhavan, Ranchi, at 1.50 pm today. Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Dr. Ravi Ranjan administered the oath to him.

Apart from Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the swearing-in ceremony of Governor, Assembly Speaker Rabindranath Mahto, Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Alamgir Alam, Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, Satyanand Bhokta, State BJP President cum MP Deepak Prakash, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, MLA CP Singh, Chief Secretary Many eminent people including Sukhdev Singh and Director General of Police Neeraj Sinha were present.
Ramesh Bais is the former Governor of Tripura, he was born on 2 August 1947 in Raipur. Ramesh Bais is a well-known name in the politics of undivided Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He started his political journey as a councillor, has been a member of Lok Sabha seven times. Ramesh Bais became an MP for the first time in 1989. Since then he continued to represent Raipur till 2019. He was also a minister of state in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He was also the chief whip of BJP in the Lok Sabha.
