HOJAI, July 13: A district task force meeting on Acute Encephalitis (AES) or Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and other vector-borne diseases was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office, Hojai, on Monday under the chairmanship of DC Sadnek Singh, IAS. The main objective of the meeting was to check the preparedness level for the prevention of JE including effective vector management, implementation of the surveillance system, and awareness program across the district. Presiding over the meeting, DC Singh asked the DTF team to conduct massive testing and duly arrange all necessary provisions for controlling and preventing JE cases and the other vector-borne infectious disease. He further directed them to carry out extensive fogging across the district. The meeting was also attended by ADC (Health), joint director Health Services, Hojai, concerned health officers of Hojai district along with officials of various concerned departments.
