CHANDIGARH: Two brothers returning from the railway station after dropping a relative were allegedly robbed of a portion of their salaries at gunpoint near the Kalibari light point in Sector 47 on Tuesday. Vijay Kumar (23) and his brother Sarvesh (21), both residents of Phase VII, Mohali, are employed in an auto spare parts factory in Mohali. They hired an auto from the railway station till the Kalibari light point around 5am. Both were walking towards Mohali when three men on a motorcycle stopped in front of them and demanded ‘bidis’ from Sarvesh. As he told them he did not smoke, one of the accused allegedly pointed a pistol at his chest and another put a knife to Vijay's throat. The third accused took out Rs 6,000 and Rs 5,050 from their pockets. The brothers alleged the accused took their mobiles too but returned them before fleeing. They said the accused were armed with an iron rod too. All the accused were wearing masks but not helmets. As Vijay called up 112, a PCR vehicle, a crime branch team and cops from Sector 31 reached the spot. A case was registered.
