Two men were arrested for robbing a truck driver at knifepoint in Kancheepuram on Tuesday night. Mahesh Kumar, 22, and Jagan, 20, both of Pattabiram, intercepted a truck near Chinnayanchathiram on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway, held the truck driver at knifepoint and fled with his mobile phone. Fellow motorists who noticed the crime called the highway patrol. A team of police caught the duo, which escaped on a motorbike, during a vehicle check at Ponneri. Two cellphones were seized from them.

After cancelling tenders and putting several projects on review, Greater Chennai Corporation has now shuffled roles and put new chief engineers in charge of departments in which corruption was rampant.
